Bruxism is an unconscious movement of the jaw masticatory muscles causing friction of the teeth.

A night guard (hard plastic appliance) is made from an impression of the teeth. When worn it prevents direct contact between upper and lower teeth , reducing grinding and premature tooth wear and all related jaw muscle pain.
